                                                    Approximately 45 years old
                                                    Found deceased
On August 7, 2010, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Phoenix Police officers responded to the above listed address regarding a possible homicide.  The caller advised police a male victim was found in the parking lot at this location.  When officers arrived, they located the victim in the parking lot and he was pronounced deceased.  Officers were unable to locate any witnesses to this incident. 
Homicide detectives arrived on scene and are treating this as a homicide although it is currently unclear if the wound is self-inflicted.  The victim is a sergeant with the National Guard and was at this location reporting for his weekedn drill.  The parking lot is located adjacent to the military base but is on City of Phoenix Property.  The victim was supposed to report to base at 6 a.m., but was not located until 8:30 a.m. by another member of the National Guard. 
Family has not yet been notified and a name will not be released until this occurs.  Cause and Manner of death will be determined by the Maricopa County Medical Examiners Office.
I will provide further information as it becomes available for release.
