MEDIA ADVISORY

SERIOUS INJURY COLLISION

Location:        5100 E. Washington

Victim:            W/M, 28-years-old

                        Injuries: Critical injuries

 

Vehicle:         Light Rail Train

 

 

On February 18^th, 2012, shortly after 11:00 p.m., several individuals came out of a club in the area of 5100 E. Washington.  Several of the individuals told one of the members of their group that they didn't think he could run safely across the tracks in front of the on-coming Light Rail train. 

 

He ran northbound across the tracks safely.  However, as he was running back southbound across the tracks a second time, he tripped in front of the train and was struck by the train.  The man, who sustained substantial injuries, was transported to a local hospital where he is in critical condition.

 

Alcohol appears to be a factor in this incident and this investigation is on-going.
