CNN, Arizona Republican Party to Present Presidential Primary Debate
MEDIA CREDENTIAL REQUEST INFORMATION AND GUIDELINES
DEADLINE: Applications for Credentials Due by Friday, Feb. 17
CNN and the Arizona Republican Party will co-host a primary debate among the 2012 Presidential Candidates on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012. The debate, moderated by CNN anchor and chief national correspondent John King, will take place at the Mesa Arts Center in Mesa, Arizona, and will air at 8 p.m. ET on CNN, CNN en Español and globally on CNN International, CNN.com and CNN Radio.
Journalists interested in obtaining a press credential for the press filing center and spin room should send the information below to AZdebate@cnn.com:
· Full Legal Name
· Title and Company
· Email Address
· Phone Number (office and mobile)
· Supervisor Name and Contact Information (phone and e-mail)
**A media advisory detailing press credential pick up, additional logistical and excerpting information will be issued prior to the debate to those who have been approved for credentials. **
*** The deadline to apply for a press credential is 5 p.m. ET on Friday, Feb. 17. *** Individuals who have not submitted all of the required information will not be granted credentials. Press credentials will only be granted to working journalists; applications for credentials are subject to the discretion of CNN. Credentialed media will be required to present photo identification and a company ID upon check-in at the press filing center on the day of the debate.
The credential will grant journalists access to the press filing center and media spin room, which will be located at the Mesa Arts Center. The doors will be open to credentialed journalists beginning at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22.
WIRELESS ACCESS: CNN will provide free wireless Internet service in the press filing center and spin room, however, journalists are strongly encouraged to bring a backup wireless device.
VIEWING: There will be viewing monitors in the press filing center.
DEBATE FOOTAGE USE: Due to the historical nature of presidential debates and the significance of these forums to the American public, CNN believes strongly that the debates should be accessible to all viewers. CNN debate footage will be made available without restrictions upon the conclusion of each live debate. Exception is an embargo in Japan, and no affiliate or client re-distribution in Japan.
LANDLINE PHONES (ATTENTION radio colleagues): Once credentialed, journalists who need to order hard telephone lines must send requests to Kenneth.Lanzel@CenturyLink.com. Please label "Phone Order" in the subject line of the email.
TELEVISION TRUCKS: Stations that plan to bring satellite or microwave trucks to the debate site must send a separate email to AZdebate@cnn.com. Please label "Television Truck" in the subject line of the email.
